RWTH: First doctoral conference in medicine

With the first doctoral conference, the qualification profile “Scientific and Management Competencies” of the model course in human medicine at the Faculty of Medicine now accelerated its efforts to inspire talented medical students for research. Further goals were to promote interdisciplinary exchange and to set up a platform to enable interdisciplinary scientific exchange.

In so-called plenary sessions, medical students discussed their research work among themselves and with professors and post-doctoral candidates. In addition, students were able to present their research projects in poster presentations. Annika Schmidt (1st place), Christopher Hark (2nd place) and David Hölscher (3rd place) received the Best Poster Presentation Award for the best presentations.

The faculty’s first doctoral conference was organized by Jun.-Prof. Carina Benstöm, Clinic for Operative Intensive Care Medicine, PD Dr. Claudia Göttsch, Medical Clinic I – Cardiology and PD Dr. Christian Bleilevens, Clinic for Anaesthesiology.
