RWTH: RWTH Chair for Architectural History develops research data portal for historical building research

The RWTH Chair for Architectural History under the direction of Professor Anke Naujokat is involved in setting up a research data portal “baureka.online”.

Partners are the TU Berlin and FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure. The German Research Foundation finances the work over a period of three years.

Historical building research measures, draws, photographs, analyzes and interprets buildings and thus generates large amounts of research data. So far, there is no subject-specific research data infrastructure. baureka.online is intended to remedy this. Designed for the German-speaking area, the platform is to be used on an interdisciplinary basis. Three modules are planned: baureka.index as a contact point for researching research data and baureka.storage for archiving, publishing and citability of research data. In the medium term, baureka.publications is planned as an online journal.
