Samagra Shiksha releases stipend worth Rs 43 lakh for CWSN Girls

Jammu: As part of Inclusive Education intervention of Samagra Shiksha, the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha released Rs. 42,96,000 as stipend to 3,580 CWSN girls through Direct Benefit Transfer mode here today.
State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha, Dr. Arun Manhas, while interacting with media persons, revealed that under Inclusive Education intervention, Directorate had disbursed a total amount of Rs. 1,15,46,500 till date through DBT mode thereby benefitting about 6,416 children with Special Needs. He, while giving a break up of this amount, informed that Rs. 88,10,500 have been disbursed under Elementary while Rs. 27,36,000 have been released under secondary level on account of Reader Allowance, Escort Allowance and Stipend for Girls. He further told that this Stipend is meant for all the female CWSNs enrolled in Government Schools from class 1st to 12th.
Commissioner Secretary, School Education, Hirdesh Kumar has lauded the efforts being put in by Samagra Shiksha towards upliftment and welfare of children in J&K. He stressed upon exploring such initiatives wherein all kinds of benefits and incentives can directly be transferred to eligible beneficiaries. He also advised to make all kinds of transactions and disbursements through PFMS and update the same on PMS (Project Monitoring System) portal of MHRD on regular basis.
Dr. Manhas also congratulated the whole team of Inclusive Education especially State Coordinator, Dr. Ravinder Jangral, District Coordinators, Resource Persons, Special Education Teachers and other support staff who worked hard for compiling the data for this successful assignment. He asked the officers to identify the fresh beneficiary students to be covered under Samagra Shiksha.
