Samba admin collects samples of 1107 persons coming from outside J&K for COVID-19 testing

Samba: The district administration Samba has collected samples of 1107 persons since last three days, who have come from outside Jammu and Kashmir and being quarantined at various Quarantine centers at Samba and Ghagwal, for COVID-19 testing.
Pertinently, the government is bringing back the J&K residents to the UT amid overall safety and precautionary measures besides ensuring their proper screening and preliminary testing to contain the spread of this pandemic. All such people are being kept under administrative quarantine facility near Thandi Khui Radha Swami Ashram, Samba.
Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, informed that the adminstation is ensuring strict adherence to the prescribed guidelines while dealing with the people being quarantined at Quarantine centres established in Samba and Ghagwal. He said compulsory administrative quarantine is being ensured for every individual coming from outside UT for testing of possible Covid-19 infection.
The sampling of all the quarantined people is being carried out through special made Covid-19 sampling kiosks stationed at these centres.
DC apprised that a team of medical officers and Covid staff has been deployed at Thandi Khui Radha Swami Ashram, Samba, Shivam Palace, Ghagwal and other similar quarantine centres which have been working round the clock to ensure early testing of each quarantine person. These samples are being further sent to testing labs in Jammu, he added.
Chief Medical Officer, Rajinder Samyal, informed that 24 medical personnel are working in two shifts at the quarantine centre near Thandi Khui, Vijaypur where samples of stranded persons are being collected for testing.
