Sampark Foundation to hire 1,000 interns; Launches Young Leader Internship Program in 6 states

New Delhi: As part of its Young Leader Internship Program, Sampark Foundation, a leading NGO working towards improving learning outcomes in primary education, plans to hire 1,000 interns between the age group of 18-35 years, in all districts across 6 states – Jharkhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Maharashtra.

 

This program aims to mentor selected interns to work with government schools and their teachers, training them on teaching in the right way – Simple to complex, LSRW (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing) learning cycle and increasing the learning outcomes of children. Interns with degree/diploma in education, with an interest in subjects such as English, Math and Science would be preferred. Sampark Foundation is a leadership case study at Harvard Business School and is known for its innovative thinking. This thinking is what we hope to instill in Sampark Young Leaders, so that they evolve as social leaders.

 

Interns and volunteers will receive an allowance of up to INR 6,000 per month. Based on their performance, interns will have an opportunity to secure a permanent job at the foundation, with a remuneration of INR 17,000 per month. The internship program is for a period of 6 months from 1st July, 2022 till 31st December, 2022. On 31st May, 2022, a pilot program was kick started, in one district each in five states namely Ambala, Shimla, Noida, Ranchi and Haridwar. This will eventually be scaled up in selected districts and then rolled out in all districts across each of the 6 states.

Once the internship is completed an internship letter, experience certificate, recommendation letter on demand or based on performance will be provided. Selected interns and volunteers will be trained on the Sampark Smart Shala program, after which they will have to visit two schools every day, according to a plan created by the Sampark activity app. The goal is to enable teachers to teach in the correct manner or Sahi Kram Aur Sahi Dhang- by using various Sampark learning resources.

Sampark Smart Shala (SSS) aims to enhance learning outcomes of primary and upper primary children in government schools across the country, in subjects such as English, Maths and Science, by making learning interesting, meaningful and effective for children. The SSS pedagogy is in accordance with the curriculum of various state governments and is aligned with the state textbooks.

 

Sampark Foundation provides innovative teaching-learning material for implementing the program. This resources consist of 12 Sampark innovations which are – FLN based TLM’s; Sound Box; Puzzles and Games; Sampark TV; Lesson Plans; Teaching Videos; Chat Bots; English Speaking Program etc. The Sampark TV is a latest innovation from the Foundation and enables a smart classroom; it consist of a TV, Plug and Play device, interactive FLN animated content mapped to SCERT textbooks as well as gamified learning content.
