Sankalp Se Siddhi scheme: DC Samba reviews extension of benefits to vendors
SAMBA : Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta today convened a meeting of councillors of all four municipal committees of the district and reviewed the implementation of Sankalp se Siddhi scheme, here at conference hall DC office, Samba.
Chief Planning officer, Sukhleen Kour, Executive Engineer PWD, Jal Shakti, CEO Municipalities of Samba, Ramgarh, Vijaypur, Bari Brahmana, besides representatives of CLTC experts and councillors of all Municipal council/committees were also present.
During the meeting, it was informed that under Sankalp se Sidhi scheme a series of initiatives are being taken to extend financial handholding to street vendors and small time business persons.
The Deputy Commissioner, while reviewing implementation of the scheme, asked for providing bank loans to enable the street vendors to reestablish their business hit by Covid restrictions. She directed concerned officers to immediately process the eligible cases and put up the same for sanctioning. She said that with active involvement of the elected councillors of the municipal bodies a holistic development plan shall be formulated for the uplift of street vendors/hawkers etc.
The DC directed for holding camps with the involvement of the lending institutions (Banks) for disbursement of the financial assistance to the applicants under the scheme. The camps shall also encourage the left out street vendors for taking loan, conduct Socio-economic-profiling under SVANidhi-Se- Samridhi, and impart digital transaction training and inoculate unvaccinated persons.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the implementation of the PMAY-HFA (U) scheme by the Housing and Urban Development Department. DC stressed upon formulating a swachta plan for each ward besides furnishing regular feedback to her office.
