Sanskriti University bags 5th position in the top 10 Indian applicants for Patents from Academic Institutes and universities. Report of Intellectual Property India states that Sanskriti University showed remarkable growth in filing Patents, as compared to last year. Sanskriti filed 301 patents and became 5th in top 10 institutions.

Sanskriti University is emerging as one of the fastest-growing universities in India. It is committed to contributing to academics, research and innovation to enable our country to make a transition from a developing economy to a developed economy.

Sachin Gupta- Chancellor Said, “Research is the backbone of India, our youth have unique ideas and these ideas can be converted into patents”. He believes in transforming knowledge into reality. There is a dedicated team of biologists, engineers, IP professionals who are actively involved in filing patent applications on behalf of the university at the Indian Patent Office, Indian Copyright Office, Indian Industrial Design Office, and Indian Trademark Office.

In this category, IITs collectively occupied the 1st position, Lovely and Chandigarh University occupied 2nd and 3rd while Sanskriti University showed a remarkable growth in filing as compared to last year, occupying the 5th place.

Chancellor Sachin Gupta expressed the hope that it would encourage all the faculty and students to take up research. Asserting that the research and patents are the backbone of any academic institution, he congratulated the university staff for this achievement.

Sanskriti University, has a dedicated Intellectual Property (IP) Cell, that holds monthly awareness programmes to educate students and staff members about the importance of IP protection and commercialization. To ensure that the procedure runs properly, the Cell implemented work from home immediately after lockdown and took all activities totally online for smooth functioning.
