SAS and Schiller International University sign collaboration agreement to train data science experts

SAS, a leader in analytics, and The Global American University, Schiller have signed a collaboration agreement to promote the training of expert profiles in data science. This agreement responds to the growing demand for profiles capable of analyzing and interpreting the large amount of data in the environment and handled by companies and institutions. In this way, professors and more than 150 students of the Business Analytics, Computer Science, Applied Maths or the Master of Data Analytics degrees will be the first to benefit from the signing of this agreement, with training in advanced analytics that will allow them to explore, analyze and visualize large volumes of data in a fast, agile and simple way.

The signing of this agreement, which took place on the campus of The Global American University, Schiller in Madrid, was attended by Marta Muñiz Ferrer, its CEO President, Victoria M. Bamond, Chief Academic Officer and Provost and Antonio Naranjo, Global Academic Chair Tech & Data, while Christian Gardiner, general manager of SAS in Spain and Portugal and Adriana Rojas, academics alliances leader at SAS Iberia, attended the signing on behalf of SAS.

According to a recent study by Esmi, in 2021, more than 143,000 job offers included SAS certifications as one of the requirements to access the position. Its general manager for Spain and Portugal, Christian Gardiner, explained that “SAS’ goal is to help students develop those skills and abilities in the areas of advanced analytics and data science that are increasingly demanded by companies, public organizations and even society. With our help and commitment, we want them to become great leaders of digital transformation. With this agreement, we will drive the democratization of the data world at all levels and for all students, while boosting the economic recovery.”

In the words of Marta Muñiz, this is “a great agreement that boosts the learning of our students in a key area for any professional environment, such as Data Science, and that will undoubtedly enhance their employability, Today, it is essential to know how to handle the data offered by artificial intelligence to be more efficient, identify new business opportunities and better plan marketing and sales strategies.”

In addition, students will be able to obtain the following certifications: SAS Certified Specialist exam: Base Programming Using SAS 9.4; SAS Certified Professional: Advanced Programming Using SAS 9.4 exam; SAS Certified Statistical Business Analyst: Regression and Modeling exam; SAS Certified Specialist: Machine Learning Using SAS Viya; and SAS Certified Specialist exam: Visual Business Analytics.
