Saurabh reviews provisions for Boiler Operation Engineers (BOE) Examination and Training

Jammu: Commissioner/Secretary to Government, Labour & Employment Department today chaired a meeting to review provisions for Boiler Operation Engineers (BOE) Examination and Training as provided under Boilers Act, 1923.
The meeting was attended by Labour Commissioner, Chief Inspector of Boiler (Chief Engineer, Mechanical Engineering Department, Jammu), Additional Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Senior Law Officer, L&E and Inspector of Factories, Jammu.
It was unanimously decided to constitute a board of examination as per the Boiler’s Act in the Union Territory of J&K to conduct Boiler Operation Engineer & Boiler Attendant Examination. Besides, it was also decided to introduce a provision for self-certification /third party certification for boilers under BRAP-2019 for ensuring safety and security of the operators and others.
Meanwhile, the Secretary deliberated on the provisions of Boiler Act, 1923, need for simplification and amendment, if any, adding that any insertion, deletion, required can be incorporated under Section 96 of the J&K Reorganization Act, 2019.
