SCERT holds Drama Contest to highlight Science, Technology benefits
SRINAGAR : Scores of students from various schools in about eight districts of the valley participated in a science and technology drama competition held by the Department of Science and Mathematics wing of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), here.
Joint Director SCERT, Kashmir Division, Mohammad Sharif Dehdar, emphasised the significance of such occasions by asserting that the younger generation holds the key to the innovations that the world has yet to see.
“As a result, every effort should be made to not only support their innovation acumen but also to provide the appropriate opportunities for them so that they can make the most of their creative genius,” he said.
“Participants in the competition are given the opportunity to express themselves creatively,” added Dehdar. “This raises their level of scientific understanding while also enhancing their creative abilities.”
Thought-provoking science dramas, he asserted, will entertain the audience and entice them to learn more about the science being performed.
The participants engaged the audience in a variety of skits emphasising the value of fostering a scientific temperament while dispelling false or incorrect assumptions ingrained in our daily lives.
Teams from the Kupwara, Pulwama and Ganderbal districts won first, second, and third place, respectively.
Science drama competitions are a regular feature in academic institutions all over the world with an aim to promote science through drama and provide participants the chance to demonstrate their scientific expertise in a compelling way.
