SCERT-JK organises Toy Fair at Srinagar

Srinagar: The State Council for Educational Research and Training (SCERT-JK) today organised a Toy Fair (Divisional Level) at its Divisional Office, here.

Director School Education Kashmir, Mohammad Younis Malik inaugurated the Toy Fair competition and was also the Chief Guest on the occasion.

As many as 30 selected students from all 10 districts of the valley participated in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, The Director School Education highlighted the importance and need of Co-curricular activities for all round development of students, especially cognitive thinking and behavioral development.

Joint Director, SCERT-JK Abid Hussain, threw light on the importance of such events and stressed that such activities are very important for the growth and development of the students. He said that learning by doing is an experience which students remember forever.

Nodal Officer of the programme Mr. Ishfaq Samoon presented the detailed introduction of the program.

All the dignitaries and judges of the programme interacted with students and evaluated the toys prepared by them. The 3 best toys were selected/ nominated for the National Level Competition scheduled on 16th February 2021 through virtual mode.

Peerzada Irfan Ahmad, HSS Magam, Kupwara bagged the 1st position followed by Nisha Nazir, GHS Pandach, Ganderbal and Anas Mushtaq, BHSS Soura, Sriangar bagged the second and third positions respectively.

The students selected for the National Level Competition were appreciated with memento/ trophies, while all other students were appreciated with the certificate of participation.
