Scholarship for African students studying at the Centre for Distance and Online Education
ALIGARH : As part of the Government of India’s commitment during the Third India-Africa Summit to provide 15,000 fully funded scholarships to students and professionals in Africa to pursue courses offered by premier Indian institutions, the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), Aligarh Muslim University has facilitated scholarships to 272 students enrolled under different courses at the centre, including BA, B.Com., MA, and M.Com.
The Director of the Centre, Prof Mohd. Nafees Ahmad Ansari said that the scholarships were awarded under the e-Vidya Bharati and e-Aarogya Bharati (e-VBAB) Network Project of the Ministry of External Affairs, which offers online undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programmes to African students.
The Government of India selected 9 governmental institutions for the Project and the Centre for Distance and Online Education, AMU is proud to be a part of this project and offers 6 undergraduate and 6 postgraduate courses, he added.
This initiative demonstrates the Indian government’s commitment to promoting higher education and fostering cooperation between India and Africa and helps strengthen the ties between the two nations.
