Scholarships for AMU students

 

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) beginners, sophomores, juniors and seniors from the Arts, Science, Commerce and Engineering streams with at least 60 percent marks each in their High School and Senior Secondary and family incomes of not more than Rs 2.50 lakh per annum can now empower their academic and career goals by removing financial barriers—as Sir Syed Higher Education Society, USA and the General Training and Placement Office of the university have announced ‘Sir Syed Higher Education Society and Bader Jehan Memorial Scholarships for on-campus education.

“Undergraduate students pursuing courses in the Arts, Science, Commerce and Engineering streams are eligible to apply. These scholarships will be awarded for one year and can be renewed on yearly basis based on academic performance with minimum 60 percent marks”, said Dr Syed Masarrat Ali, Boston, USA based moderator of the scholarship programme.

He added: Candidates will be shortlisted for interviews based on their merit and needs.

According to the General Training and Placement Officer of AMU, Saad Hameed: “Students can apply for these scholarships till March 30 by submitting a personal letter, bio-data with details of parents and contact information, mark sheets of High School and Higher Secondary and Income Certificate Affidavit as a personal statement through an email application to be sent to Dr Syed Massarat Ali at [email protected]”.
