School children explore the wonders of geology at the Department of Geology Museum

ALIGARH : A group of about 200 Class V-VIII students from the Aligarh Islamic School visited the museum at the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University to closely know the world of geology and get insight into the earth’s geological wonders.

The Chairperson of the department, Prof. Rashid Umar warmly welcomed the young visitors and emphasized that the Geology Museum is open for all to take advantage of the available educational resources.

“We are thrilled to welcome young students and hope they leave with a newfound appreciation for geology and a desire to explore the wonders of our natural world,” he stated.

The museum curator, Mr. Toqueer, guided them through the museum’s extensive collection and introduced them to various kinds of rocks, minerals and fossils, highlighting their significance in understanding Earth’s geological history. The students asked questions and engaged with the exhibits, enriching their learning experience during the interactive session.

The visit included hands-on activities, allowing the students to examine various specimens and understand the processes that shape this planet.
