School Students in Indirapuram Drive an Inspiring Plastic Collection Campaign

Ghaziabad – An inspiring environmental initiative led by the school students of Orange County, Indirapuram, is making waves as it gains momentum and inspires collaborations with various social development organisations.

In just over ten days, this youth-led initiative has successfully collected approximately 35 kilograms of plastic waste, kickstarting a significant impact on addressing plastic pollution.

Hrishit Panthry, Co-founder of Envirocare Foundation, Member of Bharat Soka Gakkai (BSG) and a class 12 student at DPSG Vasundhara, shared his thoughts on the initiative “Our campaign, ‘BSG 25 Tonne Plastic Collection,’ is more than just a collection drive. It’s a movement led by our passionate youth, who are committed to creating a cleaner and more sustainable future. We have already witnessed the power of community collaboration, and we’re determined to reach our target of collecting 50 kilograms of plastic waste by October 6. It’s heartening to see the enthusiasm and dedication of the children in our society.” He is designated as District Plastic Coordinator by BSG.

Brigadier Dalip Kapur, President of Orange County RWA (Residents’ Welfare Association), praised the youth-led initiative, “The spark ignited by these kids has not gone unnoticed. It’s inspiring other resident societies, and various social development organizations like Inner Wheel Club are coming forward to collaborate with our society. I want to express my heartfelt appreciation to our kids for being the driving force behind this movement. Our association will be giving away all the necessary support in continuing the movement that the kids have created.”

The initiative aligns with the Clean India Mission, initiated on Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), emphasizing the importance of a sustainable and clean environment.

The youth of Orange County, in collaboration with BSG and Envirocare Foundation, have demonstrated that small actions can lead to significant changes. Their inspiring initiative serves as a beacon of hope for a greener, cleaner, and more responsible future.
