SCMS Pune to kickstart new session for the incoming batch of 2020-23 with virtual induction programme

Pune: Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune is all set to welcome its incoming batch of 2020-23. The virtual induction ceremony will be graced by distinguished and eminent leaders from the industry who will be addressing the students. In a first, SCMS is hosting its induction session virtually due to the current coronavirus crisis. With much grandeur, the institute is going to welcome the students following the virtual protocol in the new normal. The induction is designed in a way that the students can embark on their educational journey with motivation and learnings from industry leaders.

The 5 day induction session will be addressed by Mr. Kaushik Deka- Deputy Editor of India Today Magazine, Mr. Anurag Gour, Director – Partner Development at Microsoft. The session will also include a panel discussion on the third day wherein notable SCMS alumni Ms. Hanisha Lalwani, Senior Marketing Manager for the Middle East & Africa region at PageGroup, Dubai, Mr. Kunal Shah, AVP – Non Financial Risk Management at Deutsche bank, London, Ms. Twishi Chaturvedi, Channel Marketing Manager at Siemens Financial Services, London, Ms. Priya Venkatraman, Customer Care Executive at CMA CGM Agencies Pvt Ltd, India shall be discussing ‘My memories of SCMS’

Speaking about the event, Dr. Adya Sharma, Director, SCMS Pune said “The core agenda of the induction programme is to empower students to make the most of what the institute offers. With much mirth and glory, every year the induction session takes place in the campus and is looked forward to by students. This year, we are welcoming the students virtually, with the same zeal and enthusiasm. We hope students will be motivated to start their career journey with valuable learnings from industry leaders and faculty members”

The induction program will also include a session on a pressing topic of Gender sensitization. Fun filled student activities through virtual gym which will be conducted by Department of Sports Recreation and Wellness (DSRW), SIU through Microsoft Teams platform.

 

The current pandemic has completely shifted classroom teaching to online mode of education. The institute has been conducting all the classes online and has also conducted the entire admission process online in a successful manner. The institute is leveraging technology to enable students to increase their knowledge base, team projects are also being given and are enabled by cloud applications. MOOC’s (Massive Open Online Courses) are also being emphasized upon along with the course curriculum to engage students and help gain extra knowledge and build relevant skill sets.
