Sechenov professor on editorial board of prestigious scientific journal
Dmitry Enikeev, Deputy Head of the Institute for Urology and Reproductive Health at Sechenov University, has become an Associate Editor for Genitourinary Surgery at the Frontiers in Surgery. This peer-reviewed open access scientific journal is released by Frontiers Media SA, a major publisher which was founded in 2007 and is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. The Frontiers in Surgery has an impact factor of 1.826 and the CiteScore of 3.9.
The Specialty Chief Editors of the Genitourinary Surgery Section are Felix KH Chun (University Hospital Frankfurt, Germany) and Evanguelos Nicolas Xylinas (Hôpital Bichat-Claude-Bernard, Paris, France). They are recognised experts in kidney, prostate, and bladder surgery.
Dmitry Enikeev has commented that the Genitourinary Surgery Section will focus mainly on interdisciplinary research and innovative technologies. ‘Recent Nobel Prizes in Physiology or Medicine have been awarded for the discoveries related to cancer therapy. We need to understand how these advances can be used in the work of surgeons and where we still have to use a scalpel’, he said.
Dmitry Enikeev is also a reviewer at the World Journal of Urology, British Journal of Urology, Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, Translational Journal of Urology, Asian Journal of Urology, BMC Urology, Andrologia, and Research and Reports in Urology.
The Institute for Urology and Reproductive Health at Sechenov University, apart from the medical work, performs a lot of research — its employees have published more than 100 scientific articles in prestigious journals in 2020 alone.
