Secretary in SWD, Director FCS&CA visit Poonch to attend My Town My Pride
Varied services provided to people in all Municipal areas of border district
POONCH : My Town My Pride 2.0 programme took off in Poonch District amid a host of activities and the visit of Secretary in Social Welfare Department, Bhawani Rakwal and Director FCS&CA Jammu, Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary.
The inaugural session started with a scintillating cultural event followed by an awareness programme organized by the MC Poonch at Dak Bunglow. The visiting officers inspected stalls established by different departments to provide different services to the public.
Further, the officials of MC Poonch aware the public about the scheme like PMAY (U) and the process to avail this scheme.
Similarly, Project manager DIC, Superintendent ITI, Project officer (POSHAN) ICDS Poonch and other departments educated the public about schemes/courses run by their departments.
Speaking on the occasion, President MC Poonch, Adv. Sunil Sharma lauded the decision of the government to organize the MTMP program . He further highlighted the progress and issues faced by the Council.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhawani Rakwal said that My Town My Pride is a flagship program of administration of UT of J&K. He also urged the public to keep their surroundings neat and clean. He further added that the benefits of different Govt. Schemes and programmes should reach the last beneficiary in the urban areas.
During the event, Cheques were presented to the students who participated in Talent Hunt organized by JKAACL.
The Beneficiaries were handed over keys of vehicles sanctioned under the MUMKIN scheme. Cheques were distributed to beneficiaries selected under Tejaswani scheme, followed by issuance of Land Passbooks to the land owners. Further, Sanction letters under PMEGP and MUDRA schemes were issued.
Sanitation workers were also given the certificate of appreciation for their selfless contribution in keeping the town clean followed by distribution of Certificates of Registration to the street vendors under PM SVANidhi scheme.
The Secretary in Social Welfare Department and Director FCS&CA also conducted inspection of ongoing developmental works in the town.
Similar activities were observed in Municipal Council Surankote where Joint Director Youth Sports and Services, Suram Chand was the visiting officer.
In a number of events, the public was sensitized about the benefits and importance of cleanliness, sanitation, waste segregation and were urged and motivated to keep their environment neat and clean.
Stress is being laid on saturation of all deliverables of different departments are making dedicated efforts in this direction and it is being made sure that the last beneficiary in queue gets benefited with the welfare initiatives of the Govt.
