Secretary Rural Development visits Namtahal Budgam, monitors B2V3 activities

Budgam: On Day 4 of ambitious Back to Village programme phase III, Secretary, Rural Development Department, Sheetal Nanda, today visited Namtahal Chadoora and monitored the B2V3 activities in the panchayat.
Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza, SSP Budgam, Amod Ashok Nagpure and Director RDD Qazi Sarwar were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary said this is a revolutionary initiative started by the Government in order to reach out to the public at their door steps. She said holding public darbars provide ample opportunity to locals to put their grievances and demands before the designated teams. She said concerned teams have been instructed to minutely ascertain the basic problems of the people with regard to availability of water, power supply, improvement of roads, overall development of the areas.
Secretary said that the designated officers have been asked to redress the public issues concerning their jurisdictions on the spot. She said process of redressing the grievances and fulfilling the demands put forth by public will continue beyond B2V3 scheduled programmes.
Meanwhile, Secretary RDD distributed certificates and gifts among the beneficiaries registered under Ladli Beti Scheme. She also interacted with the public and deputations and had on spot appraisal of their issues.
The concerned officer informed that about 17 works have been taken up for completion in panchayat halqas of Namtahal and Repora. He said that the concerned panachayts have received Rs 27 Lakh under 14th FC for which work plan has also been approved and till date 8 works have been taken up in different areas of the panchayts at an estimated cost of Rs 22 Lakh. Besides, under MGNRGA Rs 19.31 Lakh have been distributed on account of wages among the labourers, he further apprised.
Secretary took stock of demands and problems of the people during B2V like enhancement of wages of labour class, release of pending installments under IAY and PMAY, correction in revenue land records of residents of villages of Namtahal and Repora panchayts halqas.
Secretary assured the public that all their grievances have been noted and shall be addressed on priority.
Later, Secretary inaugurated several development works in the panchayats besides witnessing sports events and distributing sports kits among the players.
The day long events were also attended by all officers of concerned departments of Agriculture, PDD, PHE, Social Welfare, Education, Health and other concerned agencies.
