Seminar held to commemorate Ratan Tata

ALIGARH  : The Faculty of Management Studies and Research, in collaboration with the Dawakhana Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University, organized a seminar, In Memorium: Ratan Tata – Reflection on Leadership and Philanthropy” at the JN Medical College auditorium, to commemorate the life, legacy and contribution of Ratan Tata, a visionary leader and philanthropist, who recently passed away.

The seminar consisted of two sessions on “Discovering the Achievement called Ratan Tata” and “Ratan Tata: Challenges in managing a large diverse business group,” and a panel discussion.

The chief guest, Prof. Azhar Kazmi, former faculty in the Department of Business Administration and at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia, highlighted the transformation brought about by Ratan Tata and urged the students to embrace the ideals of ethical leadership with social responsibility.

Earlier, welcoming the speakers, Prof. Salma Ahmad, Chairperson of the department and Member Incharge, Dawakhana Tibbiya College reflected on his leadership qualities, business acumen, and commitment to social welfare, inspiring students, scholars, and professionals by exploring how Tata’s values and strategic approaches shaped industries and uplifted communities through his philanthropic activities.

Prof. Feza T Azmi stressed on the leadership qualities of Ratan Tata.

Dr. Asif Ali Syed examined the significant legacy of Ratan Tata, and his role in improving lives and transforming India, underscoring Tata’s commitment to societal change. He highlighted Tata dream project, Nano car as a meaningful gift to the people of India.

He called Ratan Tata as an empathetic businessman and lifelong learner, whose quest for knowledge and dedication to serving society inspired others to dream, serve, and excel in their respective fields.

Prof. Feza T. Azmi moderated the panel discussion, fostering an engaging dialogue between the speakers and the students.

The session also featured the release of a book, “CASES UNVEILED: A Multifaceted Compilation,” edited by Prof. Salma Ahmed.

The event was conducted by Sania Khan and vote of thanks was extended by Tooba Fatima Bilgrami.

The research scholars Rushda Kaleem, Anusha Suhail, Sumit Tomar, Onaiza Sultan coordinated the seminar.
