Seminar on ‘Career Challenges for Women in Post Covid19 World’

Aligarh: Experts from England, Sweden, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Germany discussed daunting tasks faced by women to pursue careers in the pandemic struck world in an international virtual seminar on ‘Career Challenges for Women in Post Covid19 World’ organised by the Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The seminar conducted through a video conference platform was also streamed live on Youtube.

The resource persons, Deorike Ibirogba Leonelli (Life Coach and Change Management Consultant, England), Professor Mohammad Rishad Faridi (Department of Marketing, Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University, KSA), Sarah Needham (Sustainability Driven Coach and Technology Enthusiast, Germany) and Prof Sami A Khan (King Abdulaziz University, KSA) highlighted various strategies and changing career opportunities for women in the post-Covid world

Presiding over the online seminar, AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Tariq Mansoor emphasised on the importance of consistency in efforts during the pandemic. He also highlighted the need for vaccination and drugs for bringing back normalcy.

While Deorike Ibirogba Leonelli stressed on the need to use wisdom for exploring new entrepreneurial ventures; Prof Mohammad Rishad Faridi chalked out new strategies and perspectives for women to pursue careers. Sarah Needham shared life experiences on the changing paradigm of careers for women and discussed the availability of jobs in the areas of technology and sustainability. Prof Sami A Khan presented his findings pertaining to women issues in the post Covid19 world.

Prof Imran Saleem (Dean, Faculty of Commerce) spoke on the key takeaways from the seminar; whereas Prof Nawab Ali Khan (Chairman, Department of Commerce) delivered the welcome address.

Dr Mohd Nayyer Rahman extended the vote of thanks. The seminar saw participation from 350 teachers, advanced students and research scholars.
