Seminar on ‘How to Promote the Study of the Quran among Women’

 

Aligarh : Subject experts reflected on the importance of reading the Holy Quran, learning the rules of Quranic recitation, understanding the interpretation and the reasons for revelation and abiding by the orders found in Quran in a two-day National online Seminar on ‘How to Promote the Study of the Quran among Women’ of the K A Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU).

Well-known Islamic scholar, Maulana Jarjees Karimi said: “Every faithful believer hopes to earn God’s love by reciting Holy Scriptures and holding on to the meanings”.

He was delivering the presidential address.

Prof A R Kidwai (Honorary Director, K A Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies) discussed the ongoing projects of the Centre for Quranic Studies.

In the valedictory address, Maulana Dr Tariq Ayyubi (Principal, Madrasatul Ulum al-Islamiya, Aligarh) spoke on the increasing Islamic awareness among women and the changing global scenario with regard to their participation in the larger society.

“Women scholars from Bihar, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, West Bengal and Telangana participated in the seminar and a total of 32 papers were presented in four academic sessions of the seminar”, said the programme conveners, Dr Nazeer Ahmad Ab. Majeed and Dr Arshad Iqbal.

Dr Mohammad Mubeen Saleem extended the vote of thanks.
