Seminar on “IPR and Its Protection” held at AMU

Aligarh : The Mechanical Engineering Section of University Polytechnic, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University recently organized a one-day Seminar on “IPR and Its Protections”. The event aimed to shed light on the significance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in research and innovation.

The seminar commenced with a welcome address by Prof.  Arshad Umar, Principal of University Polytechnic, who emphasized on the importance of IPR in all facets of research and innovation.

The highlight of the event was the keynote address by Dr. Sameer Kumar Swarup, Joint Controller of Patents and Designs, Patents Office, Ahmedabad. Dr. Swarup delved into the intricacies of IPR, emphasizing its role as the cornerstone of innovation and providing creators with a legal framework to safeguard their ideas and inventions.

Prof. Mohammad Gulrez, Officiating Vice Chancellor on the day, commended the organizers for their initiative and emphasized the significance of such seminars for the research community.

Prof. Mirza Salim Beg, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, highlighted the role of intellectual property rights in driving innovation and economic growth. 

Guest of Honour, Prof.  Mohammad Shameem, underscored the importance of IPR across diverse fields.

Distinguished speakers, Mr. Yasir Abbas Zaidi and Mr. Manish Soyal, shared their expertise during the technical sessions.

Coordinated   by Er. Shamshad Ali, Dr. Mohd Yunus Khan, and Er. Abdul Faheem, the event was hosted by Dr. Arshad Hussain . .

A total of 62 participants, including faculty members and research scholars from various disciplines, registered for the seminar, exhibiting a keen interest in the subject matter.

The seminar concluded with an interactive question and answer session . The vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Mohd Asif Hasan, Incharge of Mechanical Engineering Section.
