Sensitization programme on FRA-2006 held at Manzgam, Kulgam

Kulgam: Awareness cum Sensitization programme on Forest Rights Act-2006 was today held here at Manzgam, Kulgam.

The programme was organized by Forest Division (FD) Kulgam and was attended by PRI members, Forest Rights Committee members and local populace of the area.

The master level trainers of FD Kulgam provided detailed awareness to the participants about the Forest Rights Act and the procedure to file claims before FRC within the ambit of FRA-2006.

The Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006 recognizes the rights of the forest dwelling tribal communities and other traditional forest dwellers to forest resources, on which these communities were dependent for a variety of needs, including livelihood, habitation and other socio-cultural needs.
