Series of awareness events held to mark World TB Day 2021 at Udhampur

Udhampur: A series of awareness events were today held to mark World TB Day here at District Head quarter Udhampur .

Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar was the chief guest while Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur Dr K C Dogra was the guest of honour on the occasion.

District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Kavi Raj Sharma presented welcome address and briefed about the achievement and work done towards the elimination of Tuberculosis disease in the district.

A rally comprising of 60 GNM paramedical college students was flagged off by ADDC from District Hospital Udhampur. The participants were holding banners and placards with TB awareness messages. The rally passed through Mukherjee Bazaar, Ramnagar Chowk, and culminated at District Headquarter Udhampur.

An impressive function was also organized wherein TB awareness was spread among the audience through songs, skits & various other cultural items presented by the students of Government College for Women, Udhampur. The NTEP performance indicators, with a documentary on Sub National Certification for TB Free Claims survey was also screened. The staff of NTEP who conducted the survey which resulted into getting the Bronze Medal for District Udhampur (including Reasi) by Government of India, were presented with the Certificate of Appreciation and Gift packs by the Chief Guest & Dignitaries present on the occasion.

Among others present were District Health Officer, Dr Mohd Yaseen; Dy CMO, Dr Simi; Principal GNM College Dr Renu Sharma; DIO, Dr Chander Kanta; MO-TC Dr Pankaj Gupta.

At the end vote of thanks was presented by DTO.
