Series of events on Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav at ZADC

Aligarh: Dr ZA Dental College, AMU organised a series of events from 6th to 17th August on “Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav” celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence.

The undergraduate students performed a Nukkad Natak at UHTC (Urban health training centre AMU) through which they explained how the colonial power that left its footprints on independent India is endangering the local culture and languages. The event witnessed active participation from Lovekush, Shehensha, Hassan, Waqar, Urooj, Ayushi, Shivali and Chandni.

The college also organised a Tiranga rally at Dental College. The rally was headed by Dr.R K Tiwari (Professor & Principal ZADC), the Faculty, postgraduates and undergraduates took an active participation under the Har Ghar Tirranga campaign.

The College also organised a poster-making and poem/singing competitions for under graduates and post graduates on 10th and 11th August; the theme of these competitions were “Journey of 75 years of independence.” Top 4 entries of the poster competition were selected as winners (First prize was received by Team 1 headed by Faiza Alam Khan, Sana Nasrin, Nabeela, Mariyam and Zainab Rauf, the second position was given to Team 2 constituting Qurratulain, Rumaisa Parvez, Saman Afaque and Ramsha Ahsan followed by Team 3, third position winners Afreeen and Naba and Team 4, Ayusi Kejriwal and Shivali Agrawal)

The Poem/singing competition was volunteered by Hassan, Avinash Lovekush and Yusuf. They were given the e-certificate of excellence. Rest of the participants received the e-certificate of participation.

Various departments in the college are scheduled to organize various other events like essay writing competition on 13th August, Flag hoisting on 15th August; followed by e poster making and plantation drive on 16th and 17th August.
