Serious efforts will be made in the state for women empowerment: CM Chouhan
Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that serious efforts will be made for women empowerment in the state. The International Women’s Day which symbolizes women empowerment, will be made memorable. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that on this day, women’s participation will be ensured in programmes including tree plantation in the morning to women empowerment programme ‘Nari Tu Narayani’. He said that his wife Smt. Sadhana Singh will also be an active participant in all these programmes.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was reviewing the preparations for various programmes to be organized throughout the day on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Shrivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Mohammad Suleman, Principal Secretary Shri Manoj Govil, Officer on Special Duty of the Chief Minister Shri Makarand Deuskar and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Manish Rastogi were present in the meeting. All the Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries of the state government also took part in the meeting through video conferencing.
In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan instructed officers on various women empowerment issues including dignity of women, their safety and welfare, education, health, social, economic development, employment, equality, Beti Bachao, etc. He said that the male-female sex ratio is a matter of concern. The number of women in the society should increase.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan issued instructions to maximize empowerment of women self-help groups. He told to globalize the work of the groups. He told to ensure cooperation in making the local to vocal. Women who have struggled their way to success will be honoured on the Women Empowerment Day. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gave instructions to chalk out an action plan for women empowerment under each department and sought information about the acivities, programmes and schemes undertaken till now.
