Seven Day Winter Camp under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav begins at GDC Doda
Seven Day winter camp begins under Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav at GDC Doda, under the able guidance and patronage of Worthy Principal of the college, Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal. The camp shall be conducted w.e.f. 24th to 30th December, 2021 in close coordination with IQAC unit of the college. The camp began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony. The NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Sumit Kotwal, highlighted the importance of winter camp to the volunteers and motivated them to perform the assigned tasks with utmost sincerity and dedication. The best three NSS volunteers shall be awarded in a felicitation ceremony to be organized after winter break. On the first day of the camp, a cleanliness drive was organized in the college playground. The volunteers participated with great enthusiasm in this drive. The event was also attended by college faculty members namely Prof. Rakesh Kumar, HoD Physics, Prof. Purnima Manhas and Prof. Akrity Parihar (Assistant Professors in the department of Environmental Sciences). During this week-long event a number of activities shall be organized viz., guest lecture on disaster management, donation of warm winter clothing, nukkad natak on clean environment etc. The camp shall be organized in collaboration with NCC (Infantry) and NCC (Naval wing) under the command of Dr. Arjun Singh (CTO, NCC Infantry) and Prof. Zain Batt (CTO, NCC Naval wing). The organization of such type of events helps in the sharpening the leadership skills of NSS volunteers and NCC cadets.
