Seven Day Winter Camp under Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav concludes at GDC Doda

Jammu: To commemorate Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav (75 years of India’s Independence), a seven-day winter camp was organized at GDC Doda. The camp was coordinated under the able mentorship and patronage of Principal of the college, Dr. Attar Singh Kotwal. He motivated the NSS volunteers to perform the assigned tasks with utmost sincerity and dedication. The camp was conducted from 24th to 30th December 2021 in close coordination with IQAC unit of the college. The volunteers participated with great enthusiasm in this week-long winter camp. In this camp, a number of aother activities were organized viz., Cleanliness drive in the college playground (24-12-2021), guest lecture on disaster management (25-12-2021), donation of warm winter clothing (26-12-2021), awareness rally regarding covid appropriate behaviour (27-12-2021), cleanliness campaign in the college lawns (28-12-2021) nukkad natak on clean environment (29-12-2021), and awareness rally on waste management (30-12-2021). During this camp, besides performing the usual responsibilities assigned to them, NSS volunteers also participated in the 5-day long disaster management course organized by the college in collaboration with State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). The NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Sumit Kotwal, managed the different activities of winter camp. At the culmination of camp, he lauded the efforts of volunteers for active participation in the tasks assigned to them. Appreciation and participation certificates shall be awarded to the participant volunteers after winter break. The other faculty members who participated in different activities of the camp included Prof. K.K. Manhas, Prof. Anita Kotwal, Prof. Rakesh Kumar, Prof. Akrity Parihar, Prof. Purnima Manhas, Prof. Zain-Ul-Abdeen Banday, Prof. Prof. Zain Batt, and Dr. Arjun Singh. The organization of such type of events helps in the shaping the personality of NSS volunteers.
