Sharda University Inaugurates Its Annual Cultural Fest – Chorus 2019

Delhi: Sharda University, the leading educational institution based out of Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR kick started its biggest festivity of the year ‘Chorus 2019’ on November 8, 2019. The theme for this year’s fest is #cinedenovo which resonates with the idea of cinematics in the month of November. The 3-day extravaganza is expected to witness a footfall of more than 1.5 lakh students across the Delhi-NCR.

The 10thedition of the Chorus began on a bright note with lighting the lamp of knowledge by chief guest Shri Vaibhav Krishna, SSP Gautam Budh Nagar. This was followed by an opening address by Dr. G.R.C Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, Sharda University. Dr. Nirupma Gupta, Dean of Students Welfare, Sharda University welcomed the distinguished guests and gathering. A special performance by Dr. Shovana Narayan – Renowned Kathak Dancer Padmashri & SNA Awardee mesmerized the inauguration ceremony.

Addressing students as part of the inaugural address, Shri.Vaibhav Krishna, SSP, Gautam Budh Nagar said, “I congratulate Sharda University for organizing such a wonderful event. I am elated to see such high energies among the students. Besides offering entertainment, such events help in building the spirit of sportsmanship, collaboration and teamwork among the students. I urge all the students to put their best foot forward without worrying about results.”

Commenting on the occasion Mr. P.K Gupta, Chancellor, Sharda University said, “It is our privilege to host the 10th edition of Chorus that brings together students from various Universities on single platform to network with each other beyond studies. Such fests are the forum where young minds can interact, share and discuss latest happenings around them and showcase their talent. College Cultural Festivals are an important part of the curriculum as it helps in the overall development of students.” He further added, “Culture is the essence of humanity and these fests a great medium to inculcate our rich cultural heritage in the younger generation.”

The day one ended with high energy and enthusiasm as the students grooved on EDM night by Diego Miranda. Chorus 2019 will host more than 30 high-voltage events over the next 2 days. Day 2 will witness coke studio night by Jubin Nautiyal a famous Bollywood singer and the fest will conclude on November 10, 2019 with a starry performance by Punjabi singer Jass Manak.
