Sharda University organizes Orientation Programme for Ph.D. Scholars

Greater Noida, September 12, 2019: Sharda University, an institute of excellence, inspiring value-based Education, Research and Development, recently conducted an Orientation Programme for its newly joined Ph. D scholars. The orientation was facilitated by Sharda University’s Research and Technology Development Centre (RTDC). Dr G. R. C. Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Sharda University, Mr. R. P. Agrawal, Advisor to Chancellor, Dr.HSP Rao, Dean (Research) and Dr. Shri Kant were present during the programme to motivate and guide them for their journey ahead.

To grace the occasion Dr. Karmeshu, eminent Mathematician and Computer Scientist, Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Awardee, who is presently working with Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Shiv Nadar University was invited. He encouraged students to bring best out of them by asking them to focus and deliver. He provided many insights to make students familiar with the current research trends and guided them about the mathematical modeling and its importance in various field.

Prof. G. R. C. Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Sharda University on the occasion said, “We welcome the new entrants and want them to be passionate about their work and come up with something new thereby bringing laurels not only to their institution but to the society at large”.

He further added “research and innovation are the only way to reduce the gap between industry and academia. Thus it is very important for the scholars to enjoy their research topic and help the industries with best possible results.

The key objectives of orientation programme are:

To familiarize them with the rules, regulations and procedures pertaining to Ph.D. program of the University.
Get to hear from eminent industry speakers on the scope for career advancement, challenges and opportunities that await them.
Meet faculty, staff, students and familiarize themselves with the culture, unique teaching-learning practices, activities and resources.
Some of the other eminent people present for the Orientation programme were Prof N. B. Singh, Distinguished Professor, Prof R. C. Singh, CoE, Professor Shri Kant and Prof Ashok Kumar who also conducted the panel discussion.

The RTDC at Sharda University has been established to perform cutting edge research in the frontier areas of Science, Engineering and Medicine. The centre is well equipped with state of the art facilities and works in collaboration with various institutions of repute both at the national and international level. The current activities which are being pursued at RTDC focus on multidisciplinary aspects and many of them are being supported by the Research Agencies of Government of India.
