Shiv Nadar University Delhi-NCR Brings On Board NYU Stern’s Raghu Sundaram, University of Memphis’ Rajiv Grover and Veteran Academic Asish K. Bhattacharyya

Greater NOIDA : Shiv Nadar University Delhi-NCR, India’s leading multidisciplinary and research-focused university, also recognized as an ‘Institution of Eminence’ (IoE) by the Government of India, welcomed three internationally acclaimed academics to guide the transformational journey of its School of Management & Entrepreneurship (SME).

Dr. Rangarajan ‘Raghu’ Sundaram, Dean of New York University’s (NYU) Stern School of Business, has joined SME’s Advisory CouncilDr. Rajiv Grover, holder of the Sales & Marketing Chair of Excellence at the University of Memphis, TN, United States, and former Dean of the University’s Fogelman College of Business & Economics, has joined the School as Honorary Distinguished ProfessorDr. Asish K. Bhattacharyya, former Head of School of Corporate Governance & Public Policy, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, and former Professor of IIM-Calcutta, as Distinguished Professor.

Last year, Shiv Nadar University appointed Dr. Bibek Banerjee as the Director of Strategic Initiatives, as well as the Dean of School of Management & Entrepreneurship. He is also the Dean of the University’s Academy of Continuing Education (ACE). Dr. Banerjee, in his distinguished academic career, had earlier led the Marketing Area and co-founded the Centre for Research in Retailing at IIM-Ahmedabad, created and led IIM-Ahmedabad’s successful collaboration with Duke University in the area of Leadership Education. He also steered IMT Ghaziabad, as its Director and Group Academic Mentor, in becoming only the fourth B-school in India to secure the AACSB business accreditation.

 

Dr. Raghu Sundaram joins other distinguished academics in SME’s Advisory Council that includes Dr. Shekhar Chaudhuri, former Director of IIM-Calcutta, and Dr. Rishikesha Krishnan, Director of IIM-Bangalore. The Advisory Council supports the University’s efforts toward building future-focused strategies around research, teaching and learning, curriculum and methodology in Management. Dr. Sundaram is also the Edward I. Altman Professor of Credit and Debt Markets at NYU’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. His work in finance spans a number of areas including agency problems, executive compensation, corporate finance, derivatives pricing, and credit risk and credit derivatives. He has led the launch of multiple new programs at NYU and overseen Stern’s entry into online education and the setting up of many new, high-impact initiatives.

Dr. Rajiv Grover had served as Dean of the University of Memphis’ Fogelman College of Business & Economics from 2007 to 2018, before which he held the Terry Chair of Excellence and headed the Marketing Department at the University of Georgia, United States. Dr. Grover over his career, has held academic positions at Penn State University, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Georgia. He has also been a visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University, Duke University, and Stanford University. His area of expertise is marketing with specific capabilities in the interface of marketing research and marketing strategy; and he has published in top academic journals such as Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research and Journal of Marketing, and has been on the editorial board of the Journal of Marketing Research and Journal of Marketing.

Dr. Asish K Bhattacharyya brings with him a cumulative experience spanning over five decades across industry and academia. His experience spans numerous leadership roles of top institutions including the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India) IIM Calcutta, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, and IMT Ghaziabad. He has served SEBI committee on Disclosure and Accounting Standards and National Advisory Committee and Accounting Standards. Currently, he is a member of the Accounting Standards Board (ASB) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

The School of Management & Entrepreneurship at Shiv Nadar University was established in 2014 as a progressive management school. It offers programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels, guided by faculty members drawn from top institutions in India and across the world.
