Siberian Federal University: Fifty Belarusian Students Come to SibFU’s Summer University
On July 5, 2021, an official opening ceremony of the educational project of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus SUMMER UNIVERSITY was held at Siberian Federal University. About 50 Belarusian students will complete a training course in management at SibFU.
The opening ceremony of the project was attended by Ruslan Baryshev, vice-rector for Research, Oksana Tsareva, head of the Department of External Relations of the Governor of Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexander Poznyak, head of the Department of Belarus Embassy in the Russian Federation in Krasnoyarsk, and Zoya Vasilyeva, director of the School of Business Management.
«This is an important event for SibFU. We are glad that in the coming two weeks, the students will have the opportunity not only to discuss current issues in the field of socio-economic consequences of digital transformation and to get useful information from direct market players but also to get acquainted with Krasnoyarsk and Siberia. Undoubtedly, this is the opportunity for us to fulfil an important task — to maintain and strengthen the ties between Russia and Belarus», — Ruslan Baryshev greeted the guests.
Fifty students from Belarusian State University, Polotsk State University, Polessky State University, Vitebsk State University, and Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics came to Krasnoyarsk for a two-week immersion. They will study Global Entrepreneurship in Real and Virtual Space: Digital Business Models in management, attend intensive training courses with interactive lectures, meet with Russian top speakers and entrepreneurs.
«I am studying online marketing at Polotsk State University, and although the subject of this Summer School is far from my specialization, I want to gain new experience in management, especially since the manager’s competencies are necessary for everyone. I am impressed by how well the university is equipped, and it is delightful to be here. I really want to start classes as soon as possible», — Daria Glushanina, participant of the Summer University, shared her emotions from her stay in Krasnoyarsk.
In addition to the main educational program, the Summer University will offer classes in social design, and the students are expected to come out with a project of their own future startup after these two weeks of intensive work.
«Student life is not only about lectures, seminars, credits and exams. It is an exchange of experience with other people and making useful contacts. I am very glad that I came to SibFU because it occupies a leading position in Russia and the world. The organizers have done great work to meet and accommodate us so that we like it here. I expect that the educational process will be non-trivially organized but practice-oriented, and we will leave with a wealth of knowledge», — said Yana Astashonok, participant from the Belarusian State University.
Among the invited experts of the Summer University of SibFU are Evgeny Zaramenskikh, Associate Professor of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Nikolay Raspopin, Minister of Digital Development of Krasnoyarsk Territory, Oleg Davydenko, Head of the MES-System Practice at Krastsvetmet, Alexey Gorensky, Director of the School of Gastronomy of SibFU and Managing partner of Bellini group, business coaches and professors of SibFU.
«I’m studying to become an orientalist and working in the field of small business in tourism. I am glad that I’ve got an opportunity to study the basics of business in Russia. Here I can exchange experience and communicate with experts — this is a good start. Russia and Belarus are two sister countries, and there are many contacts between them, but common projects between students are the most fruitful. Students are the most mobile social group. Everything is just beginning for them; and it is pretty easy to encourage them to do something. Besides, students are the investment in the future, if everything goes well, it will give clear prospects. It is interesting that SibFU is built according to Western canons: there are schools instead of faculties, and the campus is amazing. It is still complicated to understand how everything works, but it is clear that both SibFU and Krasnoyarsk Territory are interested in this exchange», — said Mark Shiryaev, student of Belarusian State University.
The SUMMER UNIVERSITY 2021 project aims to strengthen ties between student communities of Russia and the Republic of Belarus and raise the professional level of the youth of the Union State.
«In any business, the first step is important, and the fact that students participate in this interstate project is an indicator that in the future such cooperation will have a useful continuation for people of our countries. I am glad that this International Summer School is being implemented on the basis of Siberian Federal University. Firstly, this is the first federal university, secondly, there is a multi-vector policy in education and, thirdly, I have heard that it has a great business school, which is good for practical cooperation», — said Alexander Poznyak, head of the Department of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation in Krasnoyarsk.
The Summer University is a large–scale project for students from Belarus, twelve Russian universities are to accept about 700 students from the Republic.
