Siberian Federal University: SibFU Developments at the All-Russian Conference of Radio Engineers

The School of Engineering Physics and Radioelectronics (SibFU) held the XXIII All-Russian Scientific and Engineering Conference with international participation — Modern Radio Electronics, where more than 350 scientists presented their works on current developments in such areas as satellite navigation, telecommunications, and technical means of communication.

Dmitry Chernyakov, head of the basic department of the School, presented an autonomous mobile control complex for extinguishing forest fires, which was developed at SibFU. This complex is an all-terrain vehicle equipped with an antenna operating in the frequency range of 340 MHz. It can receive and amplify a satellite signal in hard-to-reach places, providing communication between ground and air groups of firefighters, control UAVs, and video transmission. The complex has already been tested and has shown its high efficiency.

In their turn, scientists of Radiosvyaz JSC together with partners from SibFU presented radio technologies for organizing connecting lines for autonomous telecommunications complexes. They told about mobile tropospheric communication antennas that can be mounted anywhere, providing a stable signal even in the most remote places. The antennas, among other things, provide a stable Internet connection.

“The conference is timed to the 127th anniversary of the invention of radio by Alexander Popov. Same as a century ago, the matters of communication quality and its development remain relevant. Technologies are developing, allowing us to use them more efficiently and implement them in new areas. It is especially important that designers, developers, and manufacturers take part in the conference. This means that the work for the development of the industry is carried out with maximum efficiency,” said Andrey Minakov, director of the School of Engineering Physics and Radioelectronics.

The conference organisers — the School of Engineering Physics and Radioelectronics (SibFU), the Agency for Informatization and Communications of Krasnoyarsk Territory, Radiosvyaz JSC, Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems JSC, Satellite Communications LLC, Radio Engineering Systems LLC and the Krasnoyarsk Regional Foundation for Support of Research and Engineering Activities.
