Siberian Federal University: SibFU joins the International Association of Universities of Physical Education and Sports
Siberian Federal University has become a member of the International Association of Universities of Physical Education and Sports, which was founded in 2009 in Kazakhstan. Currently, it includes 57 higher educational institutions from Korea, Argentina, Slovenia, Spain, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Jamaica, Great Britain and other countries.
The document was signed within the framework of the IX International Sports Forum Russia – Country of Sports, which was held from 8 to 10 September 2021 in Kazan.
The activities of the association are aimed at uniting educational institutions and scientists specializing in the topic of sports, in order to strengthen cooperation in education, research and applied activities, including educational services, contacts and coordination of efforts of scientific sports centres. To accomplish the tasks set, the association regularly holds scientific congresses, conferences, seminars and academic readings on the problems of Olympic sports and sports for everyone.
“Joining the association will allow Siberian Federal University to improve scientific research and practical activities in the field of physical education, sports and tourism, including the processes of providing a wide range of education and additional services, ensuring connections and contacts with the international, scientific and sports community,” said director of the School of Physical Education, Sports and Tourism Alexander Bliznevsky. “In addition, the cooperation will allow creating conditions and building a system for training a new generation of highly qualified specialists with modern competencies in the field of physical education, sports, tourism”.
