Siberian Federal University: SibFU ranked second among young universities in Russia according to THE

The British Times Higher Education (THE) journal has published a rating of the best young universities in the world, THE Young University Rankings. Siberian Federal University has improved its position among Russian young universities and took 2nd place, in the world it retained its position in the 301-350 group.

THE Young Universities Rating is a sub-rating of THE World Universities Rankings (THE WUR) that ranks institutions founded between 1972 and the present. The rating uses the same methodology as in THE WUR, however, the weights of the indicators have been changed to take into account a smaller impact of reputation, as well as an emphasis on the missions of young universities. Performance indicators are grouped into five areas: teaching, research, citation, international perspectives and industry revenues.

According to the results of 2022, SibFU grew in all indicators. In general, since 2019, the university has been demonstrating steady positive dynamics in THE Young Universities Rating, exactly as in general THE WUR.

The 2022 ranking includes 790 universities, 17 of which are from Russia.
