The 2nd Yenisey Photonics All-Russian Scientific Conference is being held at Siberian Federal University on 19-24 September, 2022, honoring the birthday of Nikolay Basov, Nobel Prize laureate, who made a significant contribution to the development of quantum electronics and laser systems. More than 200 scientists from Novosibirsk, Voronezh, Samara, Tomsk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk and other cities of Russia are presenting their latest advances in the field of photonics and optics.

Ruslan Baryshev, SibFU vice-rector for research, greeted the conference participants.

“Despite being a young conference held only for the second time, Yenisey Photonics has already become a notable event in the scientific world. The number of the participants, which has almost tripled compared to the last year, and the high level of speeches prove this fact. The novelty of this year’s conference is the school session, where high school students present their first scientific achievements, which proves the highest interest to this field,” — said Ruslan Baryshev in his opening remarks.

The conference presents the results of theoretical and experimental research in such areas as new optical materials, coherent optics and nonlinear photonics, photonic crystals, metamaterials, and topological phases. In particular, the methods for visualizing individual molecules, optical methods for studying biological objects, the methods for obtaining and registering terahertz radiation, quantum cryptography and memory are presented at the sessions. These and other technologies make it possible to create nanoelectronics and conduct more accurate research in the field of physics, chemistry and medicine.

The organizers of Yenisey Photonics — 2022 Conference are SibFU School of Engineering Physics and Radio Electronics and L.V. Kirensky Institute of Physics, the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
