Siberian Federal University: SibFU Student Award at the International Competition in Financial Security
Students of Siberian Federal University have returned from the final stage of the International Competition in Financial Security which took place at Sirius training centre (Sochi) from 3 to 9 October 2021.
The International Competition in Financial Security was held by the initiative of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
More than 30 thousand pupils and students of Russian and foreign universities took part in the qualifying round of the Competition, and only 500 of them made it to the finals.
In the final stage, 12 SibFU students competed in the following areas:
Economics. Finances and Credit. Economic Security;
Jurisprudence;
International Relations;
Information Security;
Applied Informatics.
Alexander Govorkov participated in the Competition in Mathematics and Informatics area as a member of pupils’ team of SibFU School of Physics and Mathematics on behalf of Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Competition winners:
Anna Wulfert, fifth–year student of Economic Security, School of Business Process Management;
Mikhail Yakimov, fourth–year student of Jurisprudence, Law School.
Competition awardees:
Maria Abramovich, fourth–year student of International Relations, Law School;
Daria Yakimova, fourth–year student of International Relations, Law School;
Alexander Govorkov, pupil of SibFU School of Physics and Mathematics.
“For our government, the main objective is to give talented young people the opportunity to choose a worthy profession, to increase their information, financial, and legal literacy. And we achieved it by means of the organizers, professors and volunteers at this Competition. I’m sure, next year, even more students will participate,” said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, who awarded the winners.
Rector of Siberian Federal University Maksim Rumiantsev was appointed chairman of the Board of Review of the final stage of the Competition. He suggested considering the possibility of holding the final stage in 2022 at Siberian Federal University.
In the program of the International Competition in Financial Security, in addition to completing the tasks, there were panel discussions on financial security, cybersecurity, and modern technologies.
Among the speakers and experts that joined the discussions, there were representatives of Sberbank, Rosselkhozbank, Promsvyazbank, Gazprombank, Ak Bars Bank, Tinkoffbank, Raiffeisenbank, Alfa Bank.
By order of the Government of the Russian Federation, the International Competition in Financial Security is included in the list of annual Competitions for schoolchildren and students, which provide winners with benefits upon admission.
