Siberian Federal University: SIBFU Students – to Exchange Internship in India

Yulia Solomennikova, a 4th-year student of the School of Fundamental Biology and Biotechnology, and Maria Abramovich, a 4th-year student of the Law School, won the competitive selection for the Global Leaders’ Alliance internship program at Alliance University in Bangalore.

Global Leaders’ Alliance is an interdisciplinary program in the humanities that trains students to face the unique challenges of the modern world. It includes not only an international educational exchange but also a cultural program, participation in various events and conferences. The program covers tuition, accommodation, and transportation costs. Duration of the internship: 1 year.

“Participation in such a program provides new opportunities. This includes training with international-class teachers, a historical tour to cultural attractions, participation in festivals and writing works for periodicals, as well as mentoring. Thanks to this program, I will have a unique chance to personally get acquainted with the history, culture, way of life and traditions of India, gain international experience, which will have a positive impact on my professional development,” shared Yulia Solomennikova.

“I learned about the program at my department. Since I want to continue studying, I decided to do it abroad. Of course, I want to get acquainted with other cultures on my own, to study the way of life and customs of foreigners. For me, this is a great opportunity to go abroad and get not only the experience of traveling abroad, but also to continue studying, which can help me in building my future career,” said Maria Abramovich.

To pass the competitive selection, it was necessary to have a high academic performance, a CV in English indicating academic, scientific and social achievements, and proof of English language proficiency at a level not lower than B1. The applicants were also interviewed and wrote a motivational essay.
