Simpl aims to on-board over 2,000 D2C merchants over the next 2-3 years from West Bengal
Kolkata: Simpl, India’s foremost Checkout Network, today announced its plan to onboard over 2,000 merchants from West Bengal on its full-stack Checkout Network within the next 2-3 years. Through its Checkout Network, merchants selling their produce online from the state will be able to increase their conversions and reduce returns, two important pain points of the industry. Simpl’s merchant onboarding vision for West Bengal also assumes significance as the state is emerging as one of the fastest growing startup hubs in the country including D2C and the company aims to empower them through its artificial intelligence-led solutions.
Simpl, which currently has over 26,000 merchants including enterprises such as Zomato, Myntra and MakeMyTrip to numerous D2C brands such as Libas, Snitch, Superkicks and The Bear House, aims to onboard merchants across categories such as fashion, beauty, personal care and health among others.
Commenting on the development, Nitya Sharma, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Simpl, said, “With conducive government policies such as ‘West Bengal Startup policy’ propelling the entrepreneurial landscape of the state, West Bengal is witnessing a notable uptick in the number of smaller businesses going online. Simpl, as a merchant-focused organisation, is dedicated to empowering them through our Artificial Intelligence-led Checkout solutions to improve conversions and reduce cash-on-delivery and returns while helping them build trust and offer convenience to their customers. We see immense opportunities for us to empower merchants from the state and aim to onboard over 2,000 merchants from the state in the next 2-3 years”.
The company shared its plan to onboard more merchants on the sidelines of the 18th Chapter of its D2C Unlocked, a flagship community-led founders event in Kolkata. The event registered the participation of founders of dozens of D2C brands across sectors, who engaged in discussions around building and scaling brands through knowledge sharing and collaboration. The event witnessed the participation of founders of leading D2C brands, including Ayush Gupta of Chaigram, Mayank Bindal of Snap-E Cabs, Sunil Chandra Saha of Blue Tea India, Ankit Kothari of Wishcare as they share insights on the challenges and strategies for scaling D2C brands, highlighting the importance of digital innovation in today’s competitive e-commerce landscape.
