Sister Nivedita University Organizes National Conclave on ‘DIGITAL IS THE NEW MAINSTREAM’
The talk show was hosted in the presence of the Vice Chancellor of Sister Nividita University,Prof (Dr) Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, Dr. Minal Pareek , conclave convener and HOD , Conclave secretary, Prof Arindam Basu, Conclave Treasurer, Prof. Saikat Majumdar, faculties and students of the Journalism & Mass Communication.
The inaugural session was graced by Guests of Honour – Prof. Dr. Anand Pradhan, IIMC ( Delhi), Prof. Ananda Mitra, Wake Forest University, North Carolina and Mr. Manoj Sharma , Director PR, Goldmine Agency. The programme is spread across four technical sessions where research papers were presented by scholars and media professionals from different parts of India.

It’s clear that the tremendous growth of the digital world has changed our lives forever. Its impact has impacted the industry, fundamentally changing the way businesses operate, work and communicate.
Ironically, the PR industry has yet to fully grasp this dramatic shift. At that time, digital media and mobile infrastructure was still in its infancy, even in developed markets. Today, in developed and developing markets, this infrastructure is fully established and the capacity and speed of its components are constantly increasing.”
Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay in his inaugural speech emphasised the role digital education plays in the new normal. The blend of online and offline classes holds the potential to bring out the best results in students.
Conclave convener and Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication , Dr Minal Pareek, in her speech said, “The myth that journalism in practice doesn’t match with academics needs to be broken. The use of the digital media must keep digital media ethics in mind and know their checkpoints in the digital environment.”
