Six Chinese language students get scholarship for higher studies in Chinese universities

ALIGARH  : Four regular and two former students of Chinese at the Department of Foreign Languages, Aligarh Muslim University have received scholarship from the government of China to pursue higher studies in Chinese universities.

Prof. Mohammad Azher, Dean, Faculty of International Studies and Chairman, Department of Foreign Languages said that three students who completed their BA in Chinese this year, namely, Azib Khan, Arshi Arif and Firdaus Alam have been awarded one-year full scholarship by the China Scholarship Council to study at the Yunnan Normal University, Wuhan University and Beijing Language and Culture University, respectively, while another student, Abdullah Yameen has received (Taiwanese) Huayu Enrichment Scholarship to study at the Fu-Jen Catholic University, Taiwan.

Two students, Asif Siddiqui and Salman Naim, who have passed MA from the department, will study Advanced Chinese for a year at the top Chinese university (Tsinghua University) on full scholarship from the Government of the People’s Republic of China.

Prof. Azher congratulated these students and said, “While these scholarships reflect the individual students’ hard work and intellectual abilities, they also highlight our university’s commitment to fostering global academic partnerships”.
