Gurugram – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has introduced three transformative schemes aimed at empowering women and youth across the state. The initiatives include the ‘Drone Didi’ scheme, the ‘IT Skilled Youth Scheme,’ and the ‘Contractor Skilled Youth Scheme,’ each designed to enhance skill development and create new employment opportunities in Haryana.

The ‘Drone Didi’ scheme, inaugurated on World Youth Day, has received a substantial government investment of INR 530 million. This scheme aims to train approximately 5,000 women from self-help groups as drone operators. Of these, 800 will receive training from AVPL International. The initiative’s goal is to promote self-reliance and self-employment among women in both rural and urban areas.

The IT Skilled Youth Scheme is set to train 10,000 young people in essential IT skills, including coding, data networking, mobile application development, and digital marketing. In the first phase, 5,000 youths will secure jobs in both government and private sectors, starting with a monthly salary of INR 20,000, which will rise to INR 25,000. Additionally, unemployed youths in the IT sector will be provided with an unemployment allowance of INR 10,000 per month.

AVPL International has also launched the ‘Skill and Drone Didi Yatra,’ a statewide campaign to raise awareness about skill development and drone technology. Flagged off from Chandigarh by Chief Minister Saini, the yatra will visit villages, communities, and cities across Haryana to inform women and youth about these new opportunities.

Preet Sandhuu, Founder and Director of AVPL International, expressed her gratitude for the Chief Minister’s initiatives, stating, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for launching such impactful schemes for Haryana’s development. The ‘Drone Didi’ scheme, the ‘IT Skilled Youth Scheme,’ and the ‘Contractor Skilled Youth Scheme’ will open new avenues for Haryana’s women and youth, shaping a brighter future for the state.”

She further praised the ‘Drone Didi’ scheme, highlighting its potential to empower women through drone technology. “The ‘Drone Didi’ initiative will not only train women in drone operation but also provide them with entrepreneurial opportunities. The 80% subsidy for purchasing drones will facilitate commercial ventures and create new employment opportunities.”

Sandhuu also emphasised the significance of the IT Skilled Youth Scheme: “This initiative will equip Haryana’s youth with crucial IT skills and enhance their employment prospects, representing a significant investment in the state’s future workforce.”

Regarding the ‘Skill and Drone Didi Yatra,’ she remarked, “The yatra is an innovative effort to raise awareness about skill development and drone technology, informing people about the benefits and opportunities created by these government schemes.”
