Skipper Pipes signs an exclusive MOU, with Indian Plumbing Skills Council to train and certify 10,000 youths in the field of Plumbing

Under the brand name “Skipper Pipes” the company manufactures world class Polymer Pipes & Fittings, a household name in Plumbing. Today the company signed an exclusive Memorandum of Understanding with Indian Plumbing Skills Council (IPSC) to train & certify more than 10,000 youths with both urban & rural plumbing skills through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
The MOU was signed in New Delhi, in presence of Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Indian Plumbing Skills Council representatives. The plumbing industry totally depends on its flag bearers, which are the plumbers. Their job roles revolves around understanding the mechanics of all the sanitation and plumbing systems and should know if a particular problem is solvable or not. IPSC is playing an important role in vocational training of plumbers, providing recognition and certification to Plumbers in accordance to National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). In this exclusive association Skipper Pipes will fund IPSC; to train youths with modern day Plumbing skill sets so that they can adapt Plumbing as their profession and earn their livelihood. Training is absolutely necessary to initiate a successful career in Plumbing.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Devesh Bansal, Director, Skipper Limited said “ We see it as an essential part of our corporate philosophy to offer training & develop skilled labor, thus enabling many young people to get a head start in their careers” Mr. Bansal further said “Since the inception of “Skipper Pipes”, the company has developed extensive expertise in the realm of plumber training which helps us educate the bottom line work force about the latest techniques and maintain quality in their service”.
He continued, “We all are honored to have Hon’ble Minister, Mr. Rudy, with us here. His presence affirms that our continuous endeavor to keep skill development as our key agenda is being recognized. It is indeed a motivation for all of us to further intensify our efforts in this area”, he further added.
Hon’ble Minister, Mr. Rudy said “We want to make India the Skill Capital of the world, as envisaged by our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. An initiative of this stature would definitely bring us a step closer to the national goal. Plumbing till now has never been taken as a serious profession, however this will definitely change now and more youth will be trained with efficient plumbing skills for better public health and environment.
He also added “The initiative taken by Skipper Limited & IPSC is really credible and I am sure we will be able to create more such skilled manpower in this sector.”
Through this project Skipper and IPSC intend to upskill and certify the existing workforce and provide them means of better livelihood as well.
