SKKU Appoints Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Kyungsang National University

Dr. Ha-yeon Lee, Ph.D. (Social Psychology) appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Kyungsang National University in September 2023. Dr. Lee received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from our university and obtained a master’s degree in Social Psychology from the graduate school. Her doctoral research focused on “Group-Oriented Value Orientation and the Self-Elevating Effect of Group Creativity” (supervised by Professor Hoon-seok Choi).

Prior to her current position, Dr. Lee worked as a postdoctoral researcher at North Korea University and the BK21 Project Team at Sungkyunkwan University, conducting influential research in the fields of group psychology and intergroup relations. She received the Korean Society of Social and Personality Psychology’s Best Paper Award in 2022 for her work on North-South reconciliation and integration. Dr. Lee has been actively involved on the international stage as the organizing committee chair for the 2021 Asian Association of Social Psychology conference in Seoul and the 2023 Hong Kong conference.

In the future, Dr. Lee aspires to contribute to academic advancement and address social issues in Korea by continuing her scholarly activities in areas such as group functioning enhancement, group harmony and conflict resolution, and community psychology.
