SKKU: Commemorating the foundation anniversary of Sungkyunkwan University with 623 years of glorious history

Sungkyunkwan University produced an online non-contact video in compliance with government guidelines such as COVID-19 social distancing and quarantine rules to mark the 623rd anniversary of its founding.



In the video, President Dong-Ryeol Shin thanked all SKKU family members for their consistent dedication and encouragement for the breakthrough development of our university and wished them good health and happiness in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among professors and employees, those who has worked at SKKU for longer than 10 years, were recognized for making contribution to SKKU and are having their 60th birthday this year, and received achievement awards were congratulated and the interview of its representatives were conducted.



In addition to alumni who are active in various fields of society, including Yong-Taek Yoon, the chairman of the Office of Alumni Association, professors and students with the same birthday as the SKKU’s foundation anniversary mentioned their wishes to enjoy everyone’s birthdays.

Chinese Ambassador Xing Haiming and SKKU family members including small business owners near our campus conveyed congratulatory videos to strengthen co-prosperity with Sungkyunkwan university, adding meaning to the tread of exchanges between universities and strengthening social responsibility.

Lastly, Young-joo Heo and Jeong-joo Heo, students who aresisters in the Department of Theatre, impressed people by singing a song withthe hope that everything will come true “As One Says” for those in need duringthis difficult time along with their love for school.
