SKKU: MOU with Sangwha Co., Ltd. for Nurturing SW-AI Convergence Talent
On October 17, SKKU (President Dong Ryeol Shin) signed an MOU for ‘SW-AI Convergence Talent Cultivation’ with SKKU College of Computing and Informatics and Sangwha Co., Ltd., an immersive media and convergence technology company, at the 600th Anniversary Hall on HSSC.
Sangwha is a media convergence company that has been manufacturing and operating products that combine attractions such as realistic media and robotics for 14 years since its establishment in 2007.
Prof. Eun Seok Lee (Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics) said, “Based on Sangwha’s expertise in real-time content and complex realistic content using AR and VR, we hope that it will be an opportunity to do our best to enhance the quality of digital content education and competitiveness of companies’ XR (expanded reality) business. Based on collaboration between universities and companies, such as the joint operation of industrial-educational cooperation education programs and joint research to increase the effect of AI-robotics contents, we will actively support in the future by linking with SW-centered university projects to become a global model of the industry-university-connected education ecosystem.”
Beomjun Jung, CEO of Sangwha, said, “Sangwha, which celebrates its 15th anniversary, is a platform company that has long developed not only robotics but also media-related technologies, software technologies, hardware technology, including attraction for a long time. We will use the know-how and technologies as educational cooperation and research base for students of SKKU College of Computing and Informatics. Using interactive solutions, robot control and programming, hardware production technology, and robotics technology, we hope that smart factories and digital twin-based industries, which are key areas of the 4th industrial revolution, will serve as a stepping stone to becoming a leading global convergence university for SKKU.”
The main contents of the agreement between SKKU and Sangwha are △Education cooperation such as the operation of industry-academic cooperation education programs, △Research cooperation to increase the effectiveness of artificial intelligence+robotics contents, △Other cooperation to create excellent cases of industry-university cooperation in the second phase of the SW-centered university project.
