SKKU: Research & Business Foundation successfully held BIG3 Performance Sharing Conference (Bio-Health Sector)

From December 1 to 2, the “BIG3 (Medicine and Medical Device) UNBOXING” event co-hosted by the SKKU Research & Business Foundation (Head Professor: Prof. Dong-Jung Chung, Chemical Engineering) and Korea Institute of Toxicology under the Ministry of Science and ICT was successfully finished. This event, held at The K Hotel Seoul Grand Ballroom, was designed to promote industrial development such as networking, partnering, and investment attraction as well as communication and various open cooperation between existing big bio firms and small and medium-sized bio companies.



In this event, 19 bio-health firms, which have recently attracted great attention, have announced the final results of 7 given tasks, which preliminary passed PoC (Proof of Concept) steps, and future commercialization plans, and an award ceremony was held for outstanding companies. Also, along with the agreement of support for promising startups between BIG 3 hosting organization (SKKU R & BF and Korea Institute of Toxicology) and Korea major bio 3 associations (Korea Pharmaceutical and Bio-Pharma Manufacturers Association, Korea Biomedicine Industry Association, and Korea Biotechnology Industry Organization), investment attraction IR and consultation between investment institutions and small-medium sized companies were held.



This event was held as a part of a supporting program called Innovative Startup Package (BIG 3) by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. This package provides startups in promising BIG 3 sectors (System Semiconductor, Bio-Health, Future Mobility) with up to 0.6 billion KRW fund for commercialization and various supports such as commercialization, R&D, policy funds, guarantees, investment, and export programs.
