SKKU: SKKU Library Receives National Assembly Librarian Award
SKKU Library (Director Hyung Kee Choi) was awarded National Assembly Librarian Award at the 20th Korea Academic Information Council Regular Meeting and Conference, held in Busan from September 22 to 23.
Korea Academic Information Council (Chairman and National Assembly Librarian Myung Woo Lee) is an association established to share and spread academic information since 2002, which has its 6,200-member institutions registered according to Academic Information Mutual Cooperation Agreement, including the National Assembly Library. Korea Academic Information Council holds conferences every year to discuss the newest trend, current problems, and public use of academic information. They also proceed award ceremonies for member institutions of excellence who joined to spread national knowledge resources, acknowledging their academic information sharing performance, e-library usage record, and participation rate in the council.
On this 20th anniversary of the council, the awardees were: SKKU Library, SBS, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Army Headquarters, and 11 other institutions.
This competition had hundreds of people interested in the field of library, academic, and innovative enterprises. Especially, Jin-Pyo Kim, the Speaker of the National Assembly, participated to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Korea Academic Information Council’s establishment and sent words of encouragement to awardees.
