SKKU: SKKU Ranks 1st among Private Universities in Asia University Ranking 2021

Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) ranked 14th in Asia in the “2020 THE Asia University Rankings” released by the British global university evaluation agency, Times Higher Education (THE) on June 2 (Wed), 2021. SKKU maintained the top 3 in Korea this year.



A total of seven Korean universities, including Seoul National University (9th), KAIST (13th), POSTECH (18th), UNIST (21st), Korea University (22nd), and Yonsei University (24th), ranked in the top 5% of Asian universities’ overall rankings.



Sungkyunkwan University, ranked 3rd in Korea, is one of the most prominent universities in the field of industry-academic cooperation. SKKU’s industry-academic cooperation earnings index went up from 97.3 to 98.1 this year. SKKU signed an MOU with Intel Korea in 2020 to train AI talent and establish research infrastructure. It also signed a Research & Business Development (R&BD) agreement with Yuhan and Imnewrun Biosciences Inc. to cooperate in researching and developing new drugs related to brain diseases.
